- case study
Each research design has its own advantages and disadvantages so when choosing the one you want to use it should reflect your decisions on:
- Your ontology – ‘How do I view the world?’
- Your research question – ‘What exactly do I want to research?’
- Your research aims – ‘What is the point of my research?’
- Access to your data source – ‘Where can I get my data?’ and ‘Have I got the right source?’
Whichever research design you choose, it should draw on one of a number of methodologies that govern your approach to these questions. See the glossary entry for methodology before developing your research design.
